Choose Transflex to bring your textile creations to life with style and simplicity!
1. Cutting the Film in Mirror Mode
- Before cutting, set your cutting machine to mirror mode. This step is essential because the marking will be applied in reverse to ensure it is correctly oriented once transferred onto the textile.
- Use a flex blade suitable for cutting heat transfer vinyl, and adjust the blade depth precisely according to the material's thickness. This ensures a clean cut without damaging the polyester backing layer.
- Ensure the blade settings are optimized for precision, especially for fine details of the design. It is recommended to perform a test cut before starting full production.
2. Weeding
- After cutting, proceed with weeding by removing the excess material around the cut design.
- Use tools such as a hook or tweezers to weed precisely, ensuring that only the desired design remains on the polyester backing.
- Make sure that fine details of the design are preserved and that all excess material is removed cleanly.
3. Positioning and Transferring the Marking onto the Textile
- Place the textile on the heat press, ensuring the surface is clean.
- Place the design (with the polyester backing still in place) on the desired area of the textile.
- Cover the design with silicone paper to prevent direct contact between the heat press plate and the polyester film.
- Set the heat press to 165°C, apply medium pressure, and press for 7 seconds. The combination of heat, time, and pressure ensures the design adheres well to the textile.
4. Removing the Polyester Backing
- Once the pressing is complete, immediately remove the polyester backing while it is still hot, pulling gently to ensure the marking stays in place.
By following these steps, you will achieve a professional-quality, durable, and well-applied marking on the textile.
- Follow the care instructions specified on the garment: The recommendations for the specific textile on which the film has been applied must be followed to ensure its durability.
- Wait 24 hours before the first wash: This allows the film to properly adhere to the fabric and prevents it from peeling or deteriorating prematurely.
- Iron only on the reverse side: To protect the transfer and avoid damage from the direct heat of the iron, it is essential to iron the garment inside out.
- Storage: The film should be stored under optimal conditions, vertically, away from direct light and moisture, for a maximum of one year. Improper storage can affect the film's properties, such as its adhesion or elasticity.
- Washing: The garment can be washed at a maximum temperature of 60°C. It is recommended to wash it inside out to avoid exposing the transfer directly to friction, which could damage it.
- Avoid harsh products: Bleach-based detergents or other harsh chemicals can damage the film and affect its durability.
- Tumble drying: Tumble drying is allowed, but it is advisable to check the textile’s compatibility with this drying method.
- Dry cleaning: Not recommended. Dry cleaning could affect the quality of the transfer.
These recommendations are essential to ensure the quality and longevity of the markings on personalized textiles.
