Darklite is perfect for adding a magical touch to your textile designs. With a thickness of 130 microns, this film offers the perfect balance between flexibility and durability, ensuring high-quality results.
For optimal transfer, use a heat press set to 150°C. Apply the film for 15 seconds with medium pressure. This method ensures effective adhesion while preserving the texture of the fabric, delivering long-lasting designs.
To maintain the brilliance of your creations, it is recommended to wash textiles at a maximum temperature of 40°C. When ironing, always iron inside out to protect the photo-luminescent design and prevent any damage.
The film offers a striking photo-luminescent effect, storing light during the day and releasing it in the dark. This feature creates a captivating visual impact, perfect for clothing, accessories, or decorations that stand out at night.
This product is EVE Vegan certified, providing an ethical and environmentally friendly option for your textile customization projects. With this certification, you can create with confidence, knowing that your choice aligns with your values.
1. Cutting the Film in Mirror Mode
- Before cutting, configure your cutting machine to work in mirror mode. This step is essential as the marking will be applied in reverse to ensure it is correctly oriented once transferred onto the textile.
- Use a flex blade suitable for cutting heat transfer flex, and precisely adjust the blade depth according to the material's thickness. This ensures a clean cut without damaging the polyester backing layer.
- Check that the blade setting optimizes precision, especially for fine details of the design. We recommend performing a test cut before starting production.
2. Weeding
- After cutting, proceed with weeding by removing the excess material around the cut design.
- Use specific tools like a hook or tweezers for precise weeding, making sure that only the desired design remains on the polyester backing.
3. Positioning and Transferring the Design onto the Textile
- Place the textile on the heat press, ensuring that the surface is clean.
- Position the design (with the polyester backing still in place) on the desired area of the textile.
- Protect the marking with silicone paper to prevent direct contact between the heat press platen and the polyester film.
- Set the heat press to 150°C, apply medium pressure, and press for 15 seconds. The combination of heat, time, and pressure ensures that the design adheres well to the textile.
4. Removing the Polyester When Cold
- Allow the textile to cool completely before removing the polyester backing.
- Once the textile has cooled, gently peel off the polyester backing, ensuring that the flex marking remains well adhered to the textile. Pulling the backing off slowly at a low angle reduces the risk of the design lifting.
By following these steps, you will achieve a professional-quality, durable, and well-applied marking on the textile.
- Follow the care instructions specified on the garment: Adhere to the recommendations for the fabric on which the film has been applied to ensure its durability.
- Wait 24 hours before the first wash: This allows the film to properly adhere to the fabric and prevents it from peeling off or deteriorating prematurely.
- Iron only on the reverse side: To protect the transfer and avoid damage from direct heat, it is imperative to iron the garment inside out.
- Storage: The film should be stored under optimal conditions, upright, away from direct light and moisture, for a maximum of one year. Improper storage can alter the film's properties, such as its adhesion or elasticity.
- Washing: The garment can be washed at a maximum temperature of 40°C. It is recommended to wash it inside out to prevent the transfer from being exposed to friction, which could damage it.
- Do not use harsh products: Detergents containing bleach or other aggressive chemicals can deteriorate the film and affect its durability.
- Tumble drying: Tumble drying is permitted, but it is advisable to check the textile's compatibility with this drying method.
- Dry cleaning: The garment can be dry cleaned without risking damage to the transfer.
These recommendations are essential for ensuring the quality and longevity of the marking on personalized textiles.
